Archive or close the account

An archived account can be read and exported, nothing in it changes, and it is kept for the ten years the VAT act asks. A closed account is erased 30 days after closing.

Step by step

  1. Export your data first, with “Export all data” in “Data and security”.
  2. To archive, choose “Archive” and confirm, or choose “Close the account” and then “Archive it instead”. Nobody can issue, change or send anything in the account.
  3. To open an archived account again, choose “Reactivate”.
  4. To close it, choose “Close the account”, keep “Close it”, type the account’s address to confirm, and choose “Close the account”.
  5. Every member but the owners, every API credential, webhook and integration ends at once. For 30 days the owners can still request and download the export: the account is listed under “Closed accounts” on the “Accounts” page with the date its export ends, and through the API at /api/v1/accounts/{address}/exports; then everything in the account is erased, issued documents included.

Good to know

An archived account is kept until the end of the tenth year after its latest issued document or expense, counting the year of issue, or of the taxable supply if that is later, as the VAT act requires, and then erased.

After closing, keeping the issued and received documents for the years the VAT act asks is up to you, from the export.

Only the account’s owner archives or closes it. Closing cannot be undone.
