Menu layouts, All sections and the simple mode
What the menu and the Overview show first, to suit your work in the account. Neither a layout nor the mode ever changes what you may do.
Step by step
- Open the profile menu at the bottom of the side menu and choose “Layout”. Pick “Owner” (every section in the usual order), “Invoicing” (documents, quotes, deals, contacts and expenses first), “Overview” (the overview, statistics, documents and expenses first) or “Bookkeeping” (expenses, bank, taxes, records, exports and documents first).
- The palette (Ctrl+K) offers the same under “Layout”. The choice is yours in this account and on all your devices; your other accounts keep their own.
- Your default layout follows your role in the account: an owner gets “Owner”, write and read “Invoicing”, read only “Overview” and an accountant “Bookkeeping”.
- Open a section the layout leaves out from “All sections” at the bottom of the side menu or with Ctrl+K. To keep it in the menu, switch it on in “Edit the navigation”; it stays in this account whatever layout you choose.
- Switch the simple mode on in the profile menu under “Mode”, or with Ctrl+K. The menu then leaves out the advanced sections (deals, stock, statistics, records, exports and the account’s administration but people, settings and billing), and the document and expense forms fold their rarer fields: a document shows them under “More options”, an expense under “… more fields” at the end of each part.
- A field that holds a value never folds. The same switch takes you back to the full mode.
Good to know
A layout and the mode change only what you see first. What you may do is set by your role and the sections the owner allowed you.
The Overview shows the panels of your layout until you arrange them yourself; your arrangement then stays when you switch layouts, until you reset it.
Items hidden in “Edit the navigation” are hidden for you in every account, and a switch of layout or mode leaves them as they are.
